Welcome to the new HSD News Round-up, a digital mini-newsletter meant to help keep Hockinson in the loop when it comes to school and district activities. As we develop this newsletter, we'll be bringing you helpful reminders, dates, and announcements, as well as updates about what's going on around the district.
We hope you find this publication interesting and helpful, and we invite you to send us your feedback. We look forward to hearing from you!
Tonight! Hockinson High School
Theatre Company presents...
Get your tickets for the HHS Theatre Company's production of "The War of the Worlds: The 1938 Radio Play." The play will only stream today and tomorrow, so be sure you don't miss out on this year's fall play.
Get your library books!
Since the beginning of the school, HSD librarians have been making sure that all of our students can get the learning and reading materials they need to be successful in school. Books are available for checkout from each school's library. Just reserve the titles you want, and a helpful library will package your books up for you. All you have to do is head to the school to pick them up. The whole process takes place online. Visit your school's Destiny Discovery page to start checking out books for the winter break:
Hockinson Main Street Team lights up the town
On Thanksgiving Day, the Hockinson Main Street Team members held the official holiday lighting ceremony to help light up several buildings along Hockinson's main intersection, including some of the school buildings. The event is 100% led by volunteers for Greenwood Painting. All lights were donated or purchased with cash donations. A donation also covers the cost of electricity required to power the lights that have been strung on HSD property.
The HMST hopes these lights raise spirits and brighten the dark nights of winter. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hawks Helping Hunger
Just before Thanksgiving, HHS leadership students delivered over 2,000 cans of food that they collected in this year's "Hawks Help Hunger" food drive. This food was distributed to HSD families-in-need through our District's Care Closet. If your family is in need of assistance this winter, please contact your school’s counselor. All requests will be kept confidential.
THANK YOU to the Hockinson community for your generous support of this service activity supported by our high school students.
Hockinson Holiday Giving
Clark County Fire District 3 is holding its annual gift card drive to support families in our community this holiday season. Visit their fundraising page if you'd like to donate.
