Levy Information

On April 23, 2019, Hockinson voters will decide whether to approve two School District levies.

One is a partial replacement of an existing levy. The other is a new levy, similar to ones from 2009 to 2016.

The good news is, even with the new Capital Levy, HSD's total state and local school tax rates would be nearly 15-20 percent lower than in 2017.

What's on the ballot?

2020 $2,685,000 $1.50 $500,000 $750
2021 $3,005,000 $1.50 $515,000 $773

2021 $800,000 $0.40 $515,000 $206
2022 $800,000 $0.36 $530,450 $191

The Replacement SP&O Levy maintains the lower local tax rate seen in 2019. Homeowners saw a 56% decrease in the local levy tax rate from 2018 to 2019, because rates were capped by the state at $1.50 per $1,000 assessed home value. SP&O rates went from $3.43 in 2018 to $1.50 in 2019. The proposed replacement rate is $1.50.

* Per $1,000 assessed value. Future tax rates are estimates
** Assumes a 3% annual increase in assessed value
