From no-cost health care to new clothes, organizations in and around Hockinson offer several resources to families in need. Here are just a few of them:
 

Food

Clark County Food Bank: The Clark County Food Bank exists to “Alleviate Hunger and It’s Root Causes.” This two-part mission includes both the providing of emergency food to hungry individuals and families, and also the preventive element of helping people not be in the long-term place of needing food assistance.
 

General

Clark County Resource Guide: One of the most comprehensive and up-to-date resource guides available, courtesy the nonprofit Council for the Homeless.

HSD Care Closet: The HSD has a Care Closet that supports local families in need with food items, clothing, school supplies, toiletries and more. Please contact your school’s councilor to utilize this resource. Your requests will be confidential.

Health

Battle Ground HealthCare: A free clinic that provides chronic medical care and limited dental care for those between the ages of 18 and 65 who are uninsured or under-insured with little or no income. The clinic provides medical diagnosis and treatment, limited prescription services, limited laboratory testing, a nurse educator and dietary consultation.

Caring Closet: A provider of gently-used durable medical equipment to those in need at no cost. items include, but are not limited to, hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, bath benches and adult briefs.

Columbia River Mental Health Services: Serving the behavioral health needs of children, families and adults across the region.
 

Housing

Council for the Homeless: A nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide community leadership, compelling advocacy, and practical solutions to prevent and end homelessness in Clark County, Washington.

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity: This nonprofit’s goal is to eliminate poverty housing from Clark County by building adequate and decent houses, revitalizing neighborhoods, and preserving equity.
 

Kids

Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Washington: Provides a positive environment, quality programs and lifelong learning skills for all school age youth in Vancouver and its surrounding areas, with special concern for those coming from disadvantaged circumstances.

ROCKSOLID Community Teen Center: A nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, fun and engaging after-school activities for 5th - 12th grade students.
 

Professional Services

Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program: CCVLP facilitates access to legal advice for low income people with civil legal concerns in Clark County. All services are free and provided by local attorneys who volunteer their time to give comprehensive advice, guidance and assistance to unrepresented people.

Partners In Careers (PIC): A nonprofit organization that strives to create self–sufficiency through specialized job training and employment services.
 

Tech

Comcast Xfinity Internet: Comcast is now offering free access to its Xfinity WiFi Network for free to low-income families.
