Charlie Varney, HHS student, earns Greater Clark County Youth Service Award.

Hockinson High School students were front and center at this year’s Cascadia Technical Academy (CTA) Awards Reception, held May 20. Hockinson High School seniors Brian Webster and Robbie Matheson were each named Distinguished Graduates, and earlier this spring, Charlie Varney received the prestigious Greater Clark County Youth Service Award.

Webster and Matheson earned regional recognition for their dedication and excellence in pre-electrical and fire science programs, respectively. Varney was honored with the Greater Clark County Youth Service Award earlier this spring.

“These students have worked hard, taken initiative, and gained real-world skills that will serve them well beyond high school. We’re incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished,” said HHS Principal Tim Fox.

Hockinson’s strong presence at the CTA awards event is a testament to the talent and work ethic of our students. At Hockinson High School, the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program has grown year after year, from 528 students enrolled in fall and spring CTE courses in 2021-22 to 738 students in 2024-25.
