The Hawks entered the 2026 varsity season feeling pretty optimistic after a summer of team-building, conditioning, and practices as well as a strong performance at the Mtn. View Jamboree on Sept. 1. Those feelings were confirmed two days later, when Hockinson swept the 4A Battle Ground Tigers on their home court 25-12, 25-21, and 25-20.

The team was led by senior Emilie Willis' 17 kills (pictured) and 3 aces. Caidence Hunt, a freshman, contributed 21 assists, 10 digs, and 7 aces. Evelynn Matson (jr) and Juliana Kamahaku (so) added 9 kills and 8 blocks.

With a win by the JV team and a narrow loss by the C Team, the program fell just shy of a program team sweep of the Tigers.

Next up, the girls host 3A Mtn. View on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Game times are 5:30 pm (JV and C) and 7:00 pm (Varsity).
