The shorter days and cooler temperatures are indicative of the transition from fall to winter. They also signal the conclusion of the fall sports season and the start of the winter sports season in mid-November. Here is a summary of the HMS fall season and a rundown of final contests and upcoming league and district competitions for HHS fall scholar-athletes:

HMS

HMS Volleyball, Cross Country and Football teams wrapped up their seasons in winning style last week! The 8th Grade Volleyball team, coached by Kristin Elgin, capped an undefeated season by beating Mt. Solo MS in three games. The HMS 7th Grade Team closed out its season by winning 3 of its 4 final games and the Blended Team finished 9-1 on the season.

The HMS Girls Cross Country team narrowly missed 1st place at the SWWMSL Meet in Washougal, coming in 2nd out of 12 participating schools. Boys Cross Country ended the season as league champions! Team and individual results can be found here. Both teams were coached by Janell Morley, James Vettrus, and a group of dedicated volunteer coaches including Sabrina Brown and Karen Johnson. Finally, the HMS Football Team (Brandon Redeau, Head Coach) capped its season with an unconventional victory - a forfeit at halftime - to send players home with a winning feeling.

Thank you to all of our coaches and parents who helped to guide these programs to successful finishes and supported character development and  sportsmanship every step of the way!

The HMS winter season starts today - Oct. 19. It begins with Boys Basketball and Boys/Girls Wrestling with Girls Basketball starting up Jan. 19.
