HOCKINSON HIGH SCHOOL

Dear Hockinson High School Students and Parents/Guardians:

Our first day of the 2025/2026 academic year at Hockinson High School is only a few weeks away. We are looking forward to a wonderful year! As we prepare to open, we want to keep you updated and informed of important dates and information you need.

The first day of school is Monday, August 25 2025.  Regular school hours are from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, except each Wednesday when students are released at 2:30 pm. Zero period will begin each day at 8:05 am. 

For information about bus routes, call First Student Transportation at 360-846-2922 or you can download their app (FirstView 1.0) which will allow you to track the location of your bus (use access code L0S7J and your student’s Hockinson Student ID found in Skyward). ORIENTATION

Student orientation will take place August 22, in the HHS Commons. A list of required and suggested FORMS are located below. All forms are available online for online submission. Please pay all school fees/fines online through the  InTouch payment portal. Further details are provided in this document.  If you are unable to make it to orientation, please visit the office by 8:15 am on August 25, 2025. Please see below for your scheduled time. 

Students will:

1. Receive schedules

2. Pick up Chromebook (new students or returning who turned in their Chromebook for summer repair/storage) 

3. Make payments towards ASB/Athletics, fees (assurance; Chromebook; sports, club - Cash/Check ONLY in person.  CC payments available through Intouch)

4. Make payments toward lunch account (Online via Skyward, Intouch, or Cash/Check at the Cafeteria)

PICTURES WILL NOT BE TAKEN DURING ORIENTATION.  

You will receive ASB/School ID on the First day of school.
Locker assignment - By request only and processed the first week of school.

Picture Day / ASB Cards - Bell Studios will be at HHS on August 25.  Pictures will be taken during the first half of school during assigned classes.  Picture retakes TBD. Further information is forthcoming.

Supplies - These are to be announced by each teacher and listed in their respective syllabus during the first days of class. 

Yearbooks -  We have a new yearbook vendor - Treering!  We are NOT taking payments for yearbooks at HHS, ordering and payment is directly through Treering.   More info on order dates and links to follow.

• 08/18 - 08/22/25: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, closed 12:00 - 1:00 pm (12 - 12:30 on Orientation Day)

• 8/18 - 8/22/25:  ASB opens 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, close 12:00-1:00 pm

• 08/25/25 - 6/17/26: 7:45 am - 3:45 pm, except Wednesdays when we close at 3:00 pm

** Important:  Our ability to change student schedules is very restricted.  Most classes are at capacity so there is little room for adding additional students. Schedules that have errors will be corrected. Errors include: missing class periods, incorrect math or Foreign Language level, previously taken elective, etc. We will accept change requests, but be advised that putting in a request does not mean that the change can or will be made.

ATHLETICS

Students must be cleared through our registration platform -Final Forms to participate in any practice, pre-training, or sport. Parents can register students through Final Forms and each coach will receive a roster, important emergency contact info, and can check if a student is cleared to start practicing for each sport.

Payment is due after tryouts or the first week of practice. To be eligible to participate in games/matches at Hockinson, student sports fee, ASB fee, and fines need to be paid. Also grade checks will be sent to all coaches to show grade eligibility for sports.

Checklist for sports eligibility at Hockinson:

• Registration on Final Forms - Start by creating a parent account on Final Forms. ( Final Forms Info) Please check the dates to be sure sports physical has not expired or will expire during the season. Parents are required to sign waivers/agreements for students on this site. Only after parents have completed the online forms, students are then able to complete their required online forms.

• Current sports physical needs to be uploaded to their Registration (physician signature required) click here for form. Sports physicals are valid for 2 years. Do not bring sports physicals to the office or hand them in to the coach. A  JPEG or PDF of the physician signed/date/approved clearance page must be uploaded to final forms. 

• Proof of medical insurance-Insurance may be purchased here.

• Turn in Running Start forms, Homeschool forms, foreign exchange student forms, and WIAA eligibility forms -upload online into folder on Final Forms registration.

• Sport Fee and ASB Paid (For cut sports- wait to make payment until team selections).

• All past due fines must be paid to participate.

• Student Health History (on Family Access—New forms to be signed will appear the middle messages section of your students family access page)

• Opt-OUt Military Recruiter  form (hocksd.org, forms, opt-out forms)

The following forms are optional only:

• Free & Reduced Lunch application  - to waive fees for those not prequalified and for new students. (The letter is available to print HERE) Instructions and printable applications can also be found on the Hockinson website HERE.   We encourage every family to fill this out.

• Parent Military Affiliation form (on Family Access—see above)

• Student Housing Questionnaire—only if you DO NOT own/rent your home (on Family Access—see above)

• Student Information change/update form—only if changes to email, address, phone #, etc.  (on Family Access—see above)

• HHS Vehicle Registration Agreement—only if driving a car to school  (on Family Access—see above)

2025-2026 Opt-Out Form - Each of these forms must be renewed annually to remain in effect.

The following forms are available for submission through Skyward (on Family Access).

• Photograph-Video Opt-Out Form

• Electronic Information Systems Student Opt-Out Form (submission of this signed form denies permission for the student to access the internet.  The student may still receive a network use account to store files and class work but internet access will be disabled.)

• Do Not Provide Information to the Military - Strongly recommend signing before spring of Sophomore year!

• Automated Call Opt-Out Form

• Project SUCCESS Student Assistance Professional Opt-Out Form (if you do not want your child to meet one-on-one or in a small group with our Student Assistance Professional)

STUDENT FEES

Final Forms is Hockinson’s online registration for sports and activities.  Please register with the parent email address and password by clicking the Activity Registration button found at the top of the homepage at hockinsonhawks.com. This one Final Forms account will be used for your entire family for all their activities/sports registrations here at Hockinson High School. Please only create one account with one parent email and families can add any additional children and activities to this account while keeping all registration info for each child stored for future registrations. Parent email may be used for communication from coaches and school about sports and upcoming events such as pictures, parent meetings, and award ceremonies.

All coaches and sports use one app for communications at Hockinson High School - SportsYou. Once a student is rostered on the team coaches will share the code for the team your student is on and this will be the main communication tool for coaches to communicate with their athletes and parents.

The HS ASB/Activities Office only accepts cash or check (made payable to HHS). If you prefer to pay by debit/credit, you may pay online at hocksd.org–click payments.
