Survey #1 Summary
Below is the letter sent to Hockinson families on Tuesday, May 21:
Hockinson community,
We’re writing to you with another opportunity to voice your priorities when it comes to school facility repairs and needs. In the last Facilities Planning Committee (FPC) survey, families let us know which facilities needs are most important to address. We realize that there weren’t detailed plans or facilities project proposals in the first survey, and that’s because we’re in the very early stages of identifying facilities needs at our schools. Your input at every step of the way is not only crucial, but it’s the very heart of this process.
Please fill out Facilities Planning Committee Survey #2 here.
In this survey, we’re asking more detailed questions about the top four facility needs that Hockinson families prioritized in the initial FPC survey. Participants previously identified their top facility project priorities from a list of nine needs determined by the FPC. Here are the results:
Addressing the overcrowding at Hockinson Heights Elementary School (80 votes)
Safety upgrades at HHES (51 votes)
Track resurfacing at Hockinson High School and HHS stadium field improvement (48 votes)
Roofing replacement at HHS, HHES, and Community Education Center/ District Office (36 votes)
Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand your values and expectations as we develop proposals to address our schools’ most pressing facilities needs. These proposals will be shared with you, the HSD School Board, and ultimately, the larger Hockinson community. We are committed to transparency and want you to be fully informed and involved in this process. You can find FPC updates on our website here.
Thank you for your involvement and support,
Steve Marshall, Superintendent
