2024 AP CSP Female Diversity Award AP Award

Exciting news! Hockinson High School has received national recognition for improving female participation in AP Computer Science Principles. Recently, the school was presented with the College Board's AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award - recognition given to 847 schools nationally and only 13 schools in the state and 2 in Clark County! The course is taught at HHS by Kari DeBower.

Participation in Advanced Placement classes is on the rise at HHS. The school administered 55 AP tests in 2022, 94 in 2023, and 132 in 2024. HHS Principal Tim Fox is encouraged by this growth and this award. "It's so exciting to see our staff and staff get excited about AP and college-in-the-high school classes," said Fox. "The credit for this award is definitely shared by our students and families, leaders, our counselors, and of course our dedicated teachers like Ms. DeBower."
