HHS CTE students advance to SkillsUSA State Competition

HHS students Lars Sarkinen (pictured: second from left) and Renner James (far right) excelled at last week’s SkillsUSA regional competition and have advanced to the state-wide competition to compete in multiple events. Lars earned 2nd place in carpentry and 3rd place in plumbing, while Renner took 1st in plumbing and 4th in carpentry. Way to go, Lars and Renner!

These accomplishments highlight the valuable hands-on learning experiences available through HHS’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) program. The SkillsUSA Championships are created and judged by industry representatives to ensure that students showcase real-world skills in authentic scenarios.

We wish Lars and Renner the best of luck at the state competition!
