College & Career Readiness Advisor Cree Reynolds

Meet Cree Reynolds, the new College and Career Readiness Advisor at Hockinson High School (HHS). Reynolds helps students to navigate their strengths and reach their goals, whether those goals are to pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or explore vocational training.

The new position is funded by the Horizons Regional Grant, a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant program. Hockinson School District is one of 14 school districts, three colleges, and other partners in Southwest Washington to receive a College and Career Readiness Advisor through the grant program this year.

“I love the energy high school students bring,” said Reynolds. “Choosing a career or college is one of the first big adult decisions many of them will make. Having trusted adults to guide them through this confusing process is a big key to success, and I'm so honored to be able to help,” said Reynolds.

With more college and career advising support, students can make informed decisions about their post-secondary paths and move confidently toward graduation and beyond.
Reynolds will work closely with Hockinson High School’s College & Career Resource Specialist, Angelina Sarkinen, to provide students with the guidance and resources they need to plan for their futures. Sarkinen joined the Hockinson High School team as our first ever College & Career Resource Specialist in 2023. In the last two years, college and career preparedness programs at the school also expanded, with 35 free university credits now being offered at HHS. The grant will allow for Hockinson School District to continue to expand career and college readiness programs in the future.
