With recent US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities in the news, HSD parents have inquired how our schools would handle a visit by ICE agents on one of our campuses.

As of January 2026, the Hockinson School District has not had any ICE activity at our school campuses. If that were to occur, Hockinson School District has the following standard protocols in place at all of our school campuses:

- Agents may enter and stay in public areas of the building (parking lot, waiting area, etc.) without authorization from the HSD.

- ICE agents are not permitted beyond these public areas on school campuses or allowed to contact students without presenting a valid judicial warrant. If agents ask to enter a school facility, school staff will ask to see a warrant. The request will be referred to district leadership and legal counsel before any action is taken.

- No student or family records will be provided to ICE agents unless required by law.

- School staff have been instructed to be polite and professional when interacting with the agents.

Hockinson School District does not collect or share information about a student’s or family’s immigration status. These protocols are in place to ensure schools remain safe, orderly learning environments while respecting student privacy and following applicable laws.
