Some requests are difficult to turn down. For Hockinson Middle School Principal Colpron, a student’s invitation to be her partner for a worm dissection project in Mr. Klodt’s 8th-grade science class earlier this month was one of them. 

Principal Colpron pulled up a chair, and the partnership was sealed. She gave Reagan Davis full credit for fearlessly taking the scalpel to the worm. “We are bonded now, forever!” 

The dissection activity concluded the class’s first science unit on Systems. Students studied the organs in the worms’ digestive system before the lab and then traced the flow of food through each organ once the worms were opened. 

The worm was unavailable for comment, but Principal Colpron was happy to weigh in: HMS has “the best kids.”
