Brian Schauer, Class of 2018, built basic coding skills in Berit Ferarri's class at Hockinson High School. He now uses the same coding principals to automate computer policies and programs as an IT Operations Engineer at Fisher Investments.

Brian also earned a Microsoft Office Suite certification in high school that inspired him to explore computer-related careers. He played the baritone saxophone in the school's jazz band, which defined his high school career and motivated him to do well in school. Brian credits band teacher Corey McEnry with instilling in him a strong sense of teamwork and accountability.

"I would tell current Hockinson High School students that it's important to find a career path that you enjoy. Apply for lots of internships and be really involved with your peers in the field that you choose," said Brian.
