Hockinson Heights Elementary School students have been spreading kindness this fall, showing that even the smallest acts can make a big difference.

Students are recognized for their thoughtful actions through the school's Golden Ducks of Kindness program, which celebrates acts of kindness across campus. Student Award Assemblies have also highlighted Hornets who demonstrate kindness and responsibility, along with achievements in reading, math and art.

In classrooms, students have been exploring what it means to be kind to themselves and others. Through creative art projects, writing compliment cards and sharing stories of kindness, students are discovering meaningful ways to encourage, support and uplift those around them.

Throughout October, the school celebrated kindness with special weekly themes:

• October 6-10: Be Kind to Our School

• October 13-17: Be Kind to Our Community

• October 19-23: Celebrate Kindness

The celebration continued on October 21, for the annual Unity Day celebration. Hornets wore orange to show their commitment to kindness, because every student deserves to feel like they belong at school.
